The British Shakespeare Company is the best known and most successful open-air Shakespeare company in Great Britain. As a performer of Shakespeare's works, we are second in size and reputation only to the RSC.

As well as being "Britain's largest and best loved open-air Shakespeare Company" (The BBC), we have performed in London's West End, at major repertory theatres and even at Royal Palaces. We have also performed private shows for British and international businesses, and in aid of several major charities.

We have just finished our 2007 tour of Henry V and As You Like It. We opened in Windsor, before moving on to Norway, Leeds and Wadham College in Oxford, and completed our tour with a private show at Stirling Castle. Please visit BSC history to read about this and all previous tours. We have had an amazingly successful year with true applause from our biggest audiences yet, as well as wonderful praise from the critics; and we are already planning for the future.

Next we will be filming scenes from The Tempest for the film project that has now been spanning a year. This has been an exciting, educational and rewarding experience for the BSC, and we are looking forward to more film work in the future.

We are also already very excited about, and working hard for this year's tour of A Midsummer Night's Dream and Much Ado About Nothing. Please visit the site again soon - we will be posting more details as soon as we have them.

Both production will be full cast Elizabethan productions designed to enchant, delight and entertain. A Midsummer Night's Dream will be a revival of our critically acclaimed 2006 production with live music, pyrotechnics and hilarious comedy. Much Ado About Nothing will be a brand new production; a comic battle of the sexes and a glorious feast of wit and romance with live music and songs.

The British Shakespeare Company have had great acclaim for our previous productions of these shows but we plan to top even these great successes.

So our 2008 tour will be one not to be missed - I look forward to seeing you there!
